Fantasy Tabletop Gaming, Grades 1 - 3

Fantasy role-playing tabletop games focus on storytelling and are limited only by the imagination of the players  Exploring dungeons, mediating political situations, solving puzzles, fighting monsters, and gathering treasure are just some of the things people can do when playing the games. Although the focus is on entertainment and using imagination to drive the story forward, much of the game’s mechanics and functions promote educational skills that are vital to developing younger players and older players alike. Dungeons & Dragons  and Magic the Gathering give the player an avenue to improve skills such as reading and writing, basic mathematics, critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork.
