We are seeking Fitness Center attendants who are working on their Personal Training Certification or who are currently certified. You can work with our members to build your portfolio and develop FIT plans.  

Additionally, as a JCC Fitness Center Attendant you will be  responsible for providing excellent customer service to all members, assisting in exercise programs and other general fitness center maintenance. 

We have multiple part time shifts available as follows:

  • Monday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
  • Tuesday: 6:15am – noon, 10:00am – 6:00pm
  • Wednesday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
  • Thursday: 7:00am – noon and 10:00am – 6:00pm

Must be flexible to substitute for other shifts including rotating holidays and weekends. Essential Duties and

  • Must be able to complete tasks while still carrying on friendly and helpful conversations with members.

  • Effective communication entails being friendly, offering proper and effective advice and creating relationships.
  • Positively represent the JCC at all times.
  • Assist members with their exercise programs and ensure proper technique while exercising.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the fitness center.
  • Complete general cleaning duties.
  • Ensure all equipment is functional and safe for use by members.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, as well as some nights, weekends & holidays.
  • Be customer service oriented.
  • Must be trustworthy, professional and reliable with sensitive health related information about members.
  • Explain and enforce safety and rules of the fitness center.
  • Conduct one on one fitness orientation programs with members.
  • Answer phone calls and provide polite and complete assistance to callers.

 Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree (A.A.)

 Certifications required for the position:

  • Personal Training Certification preferred or courses in progress.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years related experience in fitness and Customer Service training

 While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to:

  • Walk the fitness center and interact with members

 While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to: 

  • Clean the fitness center and ensure that all equipment is in proper working order.

 While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to: 

  • Provide program orientation appointments with new members to show them how to use equipment and do so safely.
