PJ Library teams up with the Rochester Children's Film Festival and RIJFF for a morning of film, stories, and fun! Watch "Macropolis" about friendship and inclusion. Listen to a story about diversity and uniqueness. Do a project, and have a snack.

A celebration of Yiddish poets and poetry on the 63rd anniversary of the "Night of the Murdered Poets," when Soviet officials executed thirteen Soviet Jews, including five Yiddish writers, on false charges of espionage and treason.

Tuesday Session: Beginner
Discover the world of Yiddish in our beginner class geared to students with little or no background. Learn to read, carry on a basic conversation, and explore the history and culture of this expressive language. Then, consider staying for the second hour which will focus on the development of language skills - speaking, listening, reading, and writing - at an accelerated pace.
Wednesday Session: Intermediate and Advanced
10:30 am-12:30 pm
This class continues to build on skills gained in previous classes. Students will also work on textbook exercises and reading assignments, both in Yiddish and in translation.

A peer reading group, run by participants in the JCC Yiddish Program, to study advanced texts. For example, we've been reading modern Yiddish poetry, and from the Yiddish Tanach. Times and subjects may change to suit members. If interested, please contact Joy Getnick or call x239.
