Questions and Answers

Q: What are your open hours?

A: The Wolk Center is open Monday through Friday from 7am until 6pm.

Q: What holidays and other days is the Wolk Center closed during the year:

A: The JCC Wolk Children's Center is closed for Labor Day, Memorial Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. We are also closed for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and the first day of Passover. In addition, the Center is closed for Faculty Professional Development several days during the year.

Q: How is food and mealtime handled at the Wolk Center?

A: The JCC Wolk Children's Center is a nut free/peanut free school. We provide healthy, kosher morning and afternoon snacks each day including fresh fruits, vegetables and yogurt which are staples in the classrooms. Low sugar and low carb snacks are also offered. Families provide lunch for their children. The JCC maintains respect for kosher dietary laws by asking that only meat-free and shellfish-free as well as nut-free foods be brought into the Center. Each classroom is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. Infant classrooms warm food and bottles in crock pots.

Q: Do we have to be Jewish to enroll our child?

A. All families are welcome, regardless of race, creed, color, physical ability, or national origin, and we truly value the diversity that brings to our Center. Your child will learn about Jewish holidays and customs. Our approach to Jewish content is about exposure, experience, and values-- not religious practice.

Q: How do we enroll?

A. Families with children currently enrolled at the JCC Wolk Children's Center have first priority for registration. Any remaining spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note: Your family must have an active, continuous family membership to the JCC in order to be enrolled. A waiting list will be maintained for those children who cannot be accommodated.

Financial Assistance: Families may apply for an adjustment of membership dues. Please contact the JCC's Membership Department at 585-461-2000, ext 216 for confidential financial assistance.
