The following programs are presented by The Resource Place at the JCC.
Our daughters live in a world bombarded with messages from the media about how to look and how to act. Together in a non-threatening environment, explore the ideas of self-love and self-acceptance. Through discussion and yoga, we will explore our strength to face challenges and our or ability to support each other. We will listen to our hearts, share laughter, joy and connection.

Explore the inner world of the gut and its connection to overall health and wellbeing. Learn why the saying "All disease begins in the gut" is so true and how by taking care of your gut, you are taking care of your whole body.
Students who benefit from 504/IEPs in high school (and middle school) benefit from extended planning in the college search process. Join us as we discuss ways to enhance skills while in high school, how to identify schools that will continue to provide the supports that have ensured success for your child currently, and ways to engage your student in the choice process to reduce stress for the whole family. Topics to be covered included standardized testing, college visits, and identifying and anticipating a student's needs in a post secondary environment. Fees are per family.
What are the best foods to eat to stay "young at heart?" Learn the best ways to stay healthy, vibrant and vital at any age. Price includes recipes and tastings.
Planning for college can be intimidating as you and your high schooler consider his/her future plans. We will navigate these uncharted waters with an overview of what to expect as you begin the college search, selection, and application process. Tips and hints will be provided and myths will be dispelled. There will be time for discussion and questions. Fees are per family.

Have you always wanted to paint, or are you a more experienced artist seeking inspiration from like-minded friends? Work in the media of your choice from acrylics, oils, water color, and colored pencils to mixed media and enjoy demonstrations from guest artists. All ages and abilities are welcome. Painting coupon booklets must be purchased at the Main Desk to enter the class.
Girl Power is an innovative self-empowerment program for 5th-8th grade girls emphasizing being comfortable in your own skin. Combining an hour of yoga with discussion, journal writing and art, we explore how to manage stress and delve into how the media, self-care, our feelings and our thoughts influence our choices. This program also teaches media literacy (how to think differently about the images that are put upon us as women and girls by the media).
Sign your daughter up for one or all three programs. Each two hour workshop will focus on a different topic and each yoga portion of the class will introduce new poses that connect with the day's theme.
