Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, progressive muscle relaxation, meditation, and yoga can help you activate this relaxation reponse.
All yoga and pilates* classes are free to JCC members.
*There is a fee for Pilates Reformer classes.

Yoga Class Descriptions

Yoga Basics - Perfect for the new student. Learn the basic principles of align- ment and introductory poses. Experience the benefits of yoga to transform the body and the mind. *Suitable for all levels

Gentle Yoga - Experience deep relaxation and pain free movement using basic yoga postures to build strength and flexibility. This class moves at a slower pace to encourage gentle stretching and the use of props for support. *Suitable for all levels

Mixed Levels Yoga - This class is perfect for the yoga student looking to advance their practice or a newcomer looking for a more challenging option. More challenging postures are introduced, poses are held longer, and refine- ments in alignment are taught. A great way to experience the mind/body con- nection. *Suitable for all levels

Kundalini Yoga - Work every aspect of your body, mind, and being with this dynamic blend of breath, movement, stretching, mantra, meditation, relaxa- tion, and more. Kundalini yoga is a non-stressful way to promote flexibility, cardiovascular capacity, weight control, and stress management. *Suitable for all levels

Power Vibrant Yoga - This challenging class offers a sequence of poses flowing together to maximize strength and flexibility. Get a great workout and leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. *Previous yoga experience recommended

Raja Yoga - Journey to the roots of yoga. This class will focus less on asana (postures) and more on pranayama (breathing) and meditation. *Suitable for all levels

Shabbat Yoga - Bring together Jewish spirituality with the practice of yoga. Shabbat is a day of rest bringing each week to a close. Learn to relax and find peace allowing you to find inner strength and achieve more challenge postures both on and off the mat. Your yoga practice on this Shabbat will be guided and inspired through Jewish teachings. Shalom. *Suitable for all levels

Pilates Class Descriptions


Intermediate/Advanced Pilates - This class builds on the basic principles of Pilates mat and introduces more challenging mat exercises. Balls, bands, and rings are used to increase the challenge. A perfect way to sculpt and tone the entire body. *Previous Pilates experience recommended

Mixed Levels Pilates – A great class for those looking to learn the basic principles of pilates and work on more challenging  exercises.                                                                                            *Suitable for all levels

Pilates Basics - A full body workout using traditional pilates exercises blended with contemporary moves and optional equipment to challenge and tone the body from head to toe. *Suitable for all levels


Combo and Other Class Descriptions
Yoga/Pilates Combo - The best of both worlds. Combine yoga poses and Pilates exercises to build a stronger, leaner body and a quieter mind. Learn how to challenge the body and relax the mind at the same time. *Suitable for all levels
