Our Mission
Camp Yeladim Preschool Day Camp provides young children with quality,
enriching summer experiences that develop their social and physical skills,
cultivate independence and self-confidence, and challenge their imagination.
Camp Yeladim welcomes diversity and we enjoy what each individual child
brings to our program.
Our Program
At Camp Yeladim, campers spend the day doing the most valuable thing they
can - playing. Through play, children learn how to treat others and the
world around them. We spend as much time as possible outside in the sunshine
playing games, singing, and having story times and snacks. From sharing a
shovel to taking turns on the slide, we focus on Gemilut Chasadim
(friendship and caring for others) each day.
We are also able to utilize the wonderful facilities inside the JCC. We use
the Wolk Center classrooms as a home base and a place to play when the sun
is not shining. We swim in the JCC's indoor pool each week, learning with a
Red Cross instructor. In the gym we exercise our bodies with fun games and
an introduction to group sports. Every camper loves to climb, crawl, swing
and slide in the PlayGym, too.
Session-long themes are incorporated into daily activities with crafts,
music and games. Each session's theme brings opportunities for fun,
creativity and imagination. Throughout the summer we have visits from
special guests, and even a few surprises!
Our busy weeks are topped off with a musical Shabbat celebration on Friday mornings.
We hope you will come and play with us this summer!
Staff
Camp counselors are carefully chosen for their enthusiasm, skills and
experience with children. Two knowledgeable and qualified adults along with
a counselor in training (CIT) lead every group. All camp staff participate
in an extensive orientation and training program prior to the start of the
camp season. The child-to-counselor ratio is 5:1 for two-year-olds, 6:1 for
three-year-olds and 7:1 for four-year-olds.
