It's more than just the exercise you do. It's more than just what you eat. Wellness is a multi-faceted approach to health. The root cause and remedy for over 70% of all illness and ailments is lifestyle. The way we live is the single most effective way to address and prevent disease. You have the power to transform your health and your life and you are the only one who can do it.
Lifestyle includes what we eat, how we exercise, sleep, relax, and play. The answer to stress and many of our chronic health conditions can be found in the routines and rhythms of our daily life, the choices we make about food, exercise and stress management.
Through the JCC's WELLNESS PROGRAMS you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in healthy lifestyle practices and learn skills for making choices and creating positive changes. Join us in this exploration by enrolling in one of our yoga, pilates, or wellness courses or just treating yourself to a massage or healing arts session.

Postural Analysis
How's your posture? Did your mother ever tell you to "stand up straight," "don't slouch" or "sit up straight at the table"?

Well Mom was right. Bad posture can lead to many chronic problems such as low back pain, neck pain, poor balance, and much more. Much of society slumps over desks and computers resulting in a forward head, rounded shoulders and thoracic kyphosis. Add gravity and inflexibility to the equation, and we can begin to see ourselves getting shorter. We develop our bad postural habits and poor exercise selections over the years leading to these muscle imbalances, and eventually before we know it, we get all these annoying problems.

Many of these bad postural habits can be corrected with proper exercise selections, stretching, massage, and body/ mind awareness training. Postural analysis involves visual assessment of imbalances in posture/muscles and movements using a grid known as an Alignabod and exercises/stretching recommendations.

To find out more about Postural Analysis, please call Eke Aiono at (585) 461.2000 ext. 270 or email.
