Fee: $27; Member discounted fee $16
How's your posture? Did your mother ever tell you to "stand up straight," "don't slouch" or "sit up straight at the table"?
Well Mom was right. Bad posture can lead to many chronic problems such as low back pain, neck pain, poor balance, and much more. Much of society slumps over desks and computers resulting in a forward head, rounded shoulders and thoracic kyphosis. Add gravity and inflexibility to the equation, and we can begin to see ourselves getting shorter. We develop our bad postural habits and poor exercise selections over the years leading to these muscle imbalances, and eventually before we know it, we get all these annoying problems.
Many of these bad postural habits can be corrected with proper exercise selections, stretching, massage, and body/ mind awareness training. Postural analysis involves visual assessment of imbalances in posture/muscles and movements using a grid known as an Alignabod and exercises/stretching recommendations.
